Brother Laz, author of the famous Median XL mod for Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, played a role in the design of Aurumvorax.[1] Median XL also includes a unique one-handed sword named Aurumvorax with stats including enhanced damage and less gold from monsters.[2] Aurumvorax means 'gold-devourer' in Latin.[3]
