Twisted spires of flesh, blood and sinew now stand scattered across Wraeclast's landscape. Their origins and purposes unknown, they seemingly have a hunger for blood and death and are willing to richly reward those who can sate it.
The Ritual league is a challenge league. It launched on January 15, 2021, alongside the Echoes of the Atlas expansion.[1]It came directly after Heist league.
In this league, a Ritual Altar can be found in each zone. Interacting with the altar encloses the player into a ritual circle, and they must fight a wave of enemies. Rituals award Tribute which can be exchanged for items, including exclusive item bases.
League mechanic
The Ritual league introduced the Ritual mechanic, which appears during the Acts and in Maps. Rituals allow players to activate Ritual Altars, slay enemies, and gain drops. It is one of the few mechanics in the game that allows players to select a drop of their choice. After activating the ritual altar you have to fight off a wave of enemies, who give you favor by defeating them; after the fight is over you can spend Tribute (Ritual League) at the ritual altar and pick from a list of various per-identified items that cost favor.
The Ritual league also introduced a variant of the Harvest mechanic, where instead of players creating their own farm, players are instead presented with pre-created groves (The Sacred Grove) on maps, where they can directly begin Horticrafting. Players can also add a Horticrafting Station to their hideout within which 10 Horticrafting can be stored and used at a player's convenience.
Items
These items are introduced to the Ritual leagues and are exclusive to Ritual league:
